72 Hawaii Military Guide • Summer-Fall 2026 TRANSPORTATION SKYLINE 2 DEBUT Say “Aloha” to Skyline Segment 2!On Oct. 16, 2025, Hawaii’s Rapid Transportation system (HART) reached a major milestone with the Segment 2 opening that added four new stations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Lagoon Drive andMiddle Street Transit Center. With this 5.2-mile eastward extension, the current project scope has reached an 84% completion level with 13 of 19 stations now in service. This roll-out augments the initial Skyline opening of Segment 1 on June 30, 2023 that runs from East Kapolei to Aloha Stadium with nine stations along an 11-mile stretch. Note that the third phase of construction scheduled to begin later in 2026 will introduce six more stations along a three-mile route between Middle Street and the Civic Center.
