Summer-Fall 2026 • Hawaii Military Guide 235 After stopping by the shop, hit up one of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam’s onbase golf courses. Kealohi Golf Course offers a night-lit 9-hole, par-3 course with practice greens, pro shop, restaurant and lounge. It also offers foot golf, where you kick balls into the holes instead of using a club. Parched after your round? Check out 10th Puka Lounge, a small “divey-type” bar on the course. Relax in front of the big screen, sing karaoke or simply savor a drink at the bar. Mauna Bay Golf Course is another onbase option. This 18-hole golf course offers a driving range, putting greens and a pro shop. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and majestic Diamond Head crater in the distance create a beautiful backdrop. After playing a round, check out The Lanai at Mamala Bay that boasts one of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam’s top views. Sunset views are spectacular, as are the island cuisine and drinks. Cheers to a great day on the green! WAYS TO SPEND YOUR DAY Hiking with waterfalls, a waterfront bike path, Asian supermarkets and state-oftheart theatre, Pearl City features an abundance of land-to-ocean diversions for families and solo adventurers. WAIMANO LOOP TRAIL & MANANA TRAIL Starting from Waimano Home Road at the top of Pearl City, Waimano Loop Trail is considered an intermediate Oahu hike. Wander through rainforests to discover pools, waterfalls, a ridge trail and lava tubes. Bug spray and hiking boots are highly recommended! Off Komo Mai Drive, Manana Trail is far from a “beginners welcomed” route. With tranquil views, the trail ups the challenge ante with its white-knuckle “cardiac hill” section. Ending at Koolau Range Summit, the fivemile trail allows diehards to connect to the Waimano Trail that rewards with a dipping option in a waterfall-fed pool.
