To update your home address, email address, or phone number: • Log on at milConnect, navigate to the Benefits tab, and select Beneficiary Web Enrollment • Or call TriWest Healthcare Alliance BENEFICIARY WEB ENROLLMENT TRICARE’s BWE site allows sponsors to manage medical and dental enrollments, and update DEERS information online at any time. Please be aware that online enrollment may be subject to Military Treatment Facility guidelines. If you are unsure about your options or eligibility, it is recommended that you contact your local TRICARE Service Center for assistance. To access the BWE system, beneficiaries must have either a valid Common Access Card, a Defense Finance and Accounting Service MyPay personal identification number, or a DS Logon. Again, it is important to keep your DEERS record current whenever any personal information changes or after experiencing a QLE. These events and how they may affect TRICARE eligibility are explained in detail in official TRICARE publications available through authorized resources. OPEN SEASON TRICARE Open Season is the annual period when eligible beneficiaries can enroll in or make changes to their TRICARE health plans. It typically runs from the Monday of the second full week in November to the Monday of the second full week in December. During Open Season, you can enroll in a TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select plan if you are eligible, switch your current plan from Prime to Select or vice versa, or disenroll from your TRICARE plan. However, disenrolling may result in the loss of coverage unless you have another health plan. If no action is taken during Open Season, your current TRICARE coverage will continue into the next year provided you remain eligible. Open Season applies to active duty family members, retired service members and their families, and members of the National Guard and Reserve and their families who use TRICARE Reserve Select or TRICARE Retired Reserve. Open Season does not apply to active duty service members who are automatically enrolled in TRICARE Prime. Nor does it apply to individuals who use TFL or those enrolled in premium-based plans such as TYA or TRICARE Reserve Select unless otherwise specified. Again, outside of Open Season, you can only make changes to your health plan if you experience a QLE. Examples include marriage, birth or adoption of a child, loss of other health insurance, or a change in residence. These events may allow you to update or change your coverage outside of Open Season.
