Also, you must always update this information with any QLE at the milConnect official website. A database of information is available for uniformed services members (sponsors), U.S. sponsored foreign military, DoD and uniformed services civilians, other personnel as directed by the DoD, and family members. TRICARE PLANS Among the current options are Prime, Select, TRICARE For Life, TRICARE Young Adult, TRICARE Reserve, TRICARE Retired and TRICARE ECHO. Note that beneficiary categories and groups determine your enrollment fees or premiums and outof-pocket costs you may have with your TRICARE plan. For more information, visit “Find A Doctor” on the TRICARE website. TRICARE PRIME TRICARE Prime is a managed care option with the most affordable and comprehensive coverage. Enrollment is mandatory for Active Duty service members and the preferred option for many eligible beneficiaries. There is no enrollment fee or annual deductible for Active Duty families. Prime provides enhanced vision coverage and preventative services. Your provider will file claims for you (in most cases) and you’ll have fewer out-of-pocket costs. Most TRICARE Prime care is received from your Primary Care Manager (PCM). This military or network provider refers you to specialists for care he/she cannot provide, works with your regional contractor for referrals and authorizations, accepts copayments, and files claims for you. If your PCM is located at a military hospital or clinic, note that the Defense Health Agency has expanded its virtual urgent care options in the U.S. This allows TRICARE Prime enrollees to schedule virtual urgent care through the MHS Nurse Advice Line at 800-TRICARE, option 1.
