T-5 UPDATES Tricare.mil is an official website of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), a component of the Military Health System. T-5 provides health care services and administrative support for TRICARE beneficiaries. The past few years have been packed with major announcements on a proactive, positive front resulting from updated regional T-5 contracts, state realignments and other improvements. Former TRICARE East Region states of Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin have transitioned to the TRICARE West Region. TriWest Healthcare Alliance replaced Health Net Federal Services as the new regional contractor for the TRICARE West Region, while Humana Military continues as the regional contractor for the TRICARE East Region. These TRICARE contract changes only affect beneficiaries living in the U.S., and do not impact those under TRICARE For Life or the US Family Health Plan. Key benefits under T-5 include easier transfers when moving between regions, improved access to specialized and telehealth care, and virtual tools for better provider selection.
