For details, visit the Military OneSource website or call (800) 342-9647. • DEA—The Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of a Veteran or service member who passed away, is missing, or became permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected condition. Beneficiaries who first used DEA benefits before August 1, 2018, are eligible for up to 45 months of benefits. Those who began using benefits on or after August 1, 2018, have a maximum student veterans as they transition from military to university life. Military tuition assistance is available and pays the cost of tuition and additional fees for most active duty service members. Each service branch determines eligibility criteria. All Active Duty Service Members (including Guard and Reserve) must contact their Education Service Officer (ESO) or Education Counselor within your branch of service prior to enrolling in any college or university.
