Hawaii Military Guide Summer/Fall 2026

126 Hawaii Military Guide • Summer-Fall 2026 YOUTH ENRICHMENT YMCA YMCA of Honolulu offers a wide range of youth enrichment opportunities across Oahu, giving families access to programs that support academic growth, physical activity, and social development in a safe, nurturing environment. With locations including Nuuanu, Kaneohe, Leeward Oahu, and Mililani, the Y serves keiki from early childhood through the teen years. For younger children, YMCA Preschool and Early Learning programs, such as those at Pali and Leeward, provide both part day and full day options for ages 2 to 5. These programs focus on building confidence, social emotional skills, and school readiness through hands-on learning and play based activities that prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. Small class sizes and caring teachers help ensure each child receives individualized attention in a supportive setting. As students enter elementary school, the Y’s A Plus before and after school programs, offered at many public school campuses, give children a structured place to complete homework, enjoy snacks, and participate in enrichment activities like arts and crafts, STEM projects, and organized sports. These programs also give working parents peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe and engaging environment after school hours. During school breaks, YMCA day camps and seasonal programs keep kids active and engaged with field trips, outdoor play, team building games, and cultural activities. With a strong emphasis on character values like caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, the YMCA of Honolulu continues to be a trusted resource, helping keiki grow into confident, capable, and connected individuals.
