The Oregon Coast Inspiration Guide 2025-26

62 VISITTHEOREGONCOAST.COM In early November, it’s hard to beat the Yachats Celtic Music Festival, three days centered around worldclass Celtic performers. In addition to famous fiddle players, there’s a mix of folk ensembles and sunset bagpipe sessions overlooking the sea. Any given season, the contemporary 455-seat theater at the Florence Events Center brings national-caliber musical and theatrical productions to town. The theater is also home to SEAcoast Entertainment’s annual concert series and features annual performances by the Eugene Symphony and Eugene Ballet. CULTURAL HERITAGE Learn about Oregon’s connection to antique Japanese glass fishing floats and what life was like for Indigenous peoples and early residents at the North Lincoln County Historical Museum in Lincoln City. For maritime heritage and the chance to spy a whale, head to Depoe Bay, the world’s smallest harbor. The tiny town is also home to the Oregon State Parks Whale Watching Center, where engaging exhibits, along with hands-on opportunities to touch baleen and whale vertebrae, make the center a favorite for visitors of all ages. For seafaring history, check out the lighthouse and visitor center at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. In Newport the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center sits on a forested hill overlooking the state’s largest fishing fleet. The center features excellent maritime- and commercial-fishing-related exhibits, along with local artwork. The Toledo Oregon History Center has exhibits and photos of early settlement and the town’s timber and fishing history, and you can learn all about Toledo’s local railroad history at the Yaquina Pacific Railroad Historical Society, which hosts a collection of railroad artifacts, locomotives and antique railcars. Hop aboard the museum’s restored RPO mail car to envision life on the rails as a mail carrier.
