In addition to a walkable old town brimming with art galleries, the Florence Events Center hosts art shows in two on-site galleries. Plan ahead for the annual Art on the Edge Studio Tour of the Central Oregon Coast; it’s a rare opportunity to visit studio spaces of renowned coastal artists and is usually held the last weekend of May. PERFORMING ARTS The Lincoln City Cultural Center hosts a wide array of live music from local chamber concerts and folk quartets to renowned national artists. Exciting touring acts often roll through the Newport Performing Arts Center, taking stage in its two theaters — the 371-seat Alice Silverman Theater and the 80-seat David Ogden Stiers Studio Theatre. The center is also home to nine resident artist companies and the Newport Symphony Orchestra, the only year-round, professional symphony orchestra on the Oregon Coast. For an enchanting evening, catch a chamber concert in the intimate Doerfler Family Theater, located at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center on Newport’s historic bayfront.
