ACCESSIBLE ADVENTURES In recent years, Lincoln City has improved beach access, reimagined playgrounds and updated community spaces — indoors and out — for visitors with disabilities. It’s never been easier to visit the beach in Lincoln City. Whether you’re in a wheelchair or are a family with strollers or beach wagons, you’ve got help with traveling across the soft sand between mid-May and Labor Day. Mobi-mats provide easy access at four access points around Lincoln City — including the D River State Recreation Site and at the western edge of Southwest 51st Street. These nonslip walkways provide access for visitors with mobility devices — and anyone else who could use a sturdier surface. Visitors can also check out beach wheelchairs, which come equipped with balloon-like tires for traveling over sand, rocks and other rough services. The wheelchairs are available year-round at the west end of Southwest 51st Street, providing access to beaches around Siletz Bay and Taft Beach. Kids find plenty to love about the inclusive playgrounds across Lincoln City. Regatta Park has long been popular with kids and kids at heart. One of the park’s Did you know?
