First-Time Runners Share Their Story The Foulchag family were first-time participants of the Keiki Great Aloha Run last year. “I was looking for an activity my kids could join. It was a fun experience for them. Oahu is a big place with many families searching for affordable, enjoyable activities for their kids, but such events can be hard to find,” said Samuel Foulchag, who joined the fun festivities with his wife, Charity Faith Ileyagisiug and their three children. “The location worked well for me, it felt safe from traffic, and I liked that the whole family could join in. I’m always trying to get my kids out of the house to enjoy physical activities,” he said. Samuel shared that the kids love activities like racing. “They enjoy competing whenever they can. It’s an important part of our routine,” he added. “Whenever we take part in events like this, especially larger ones, it boosts their confidence and strengthens our family bond.” A Fun Day with a Bigger Purpose The smiles, laughter and camaraderie found at the annual Keiki Great Aloha Run by Nancy Arcayna The Great Aloha Run has raised $17 million in support of more than 150 Hawaii nonprofits over the past 41 years.
