They wake up every day for rehearsals pretending to be other characters, pushing themselves to unfamiliar places and exploring parts of themself that they never knew existed. Then they get up on stage and bear their souls for hundreds of people to watch, consume, comment on and criticize. It is one of those things that makes people in the performing arts world comfortable in their own skin and, over time, overcome any fear of the stage or people. Theatre gives performers an opportunity to fine tune and be very confident in their public speaking skills, which is a highly soughtafter skill in the career world. diverse types of people meet with the widest range of personality types – as diverse and wide as there are in society itself. Realistically speaking, in the performing arts you are bound to work with lazy scene partners, rough directors, a few divas and many other different shades of human beings. In the real world, you can choose not to deal with such people, but in theatre you not only have to deal with all kinds of personalities but learn to thrive among them.
