will go to lend a helping hand to their neighbor. Where do you see Alaska in 50 years? I see Alaska having moved past our current energy concerns with a diversified energy portfolio, built around the thriving and successful industries we currently have at our disposal, without seeking to diminish them. Alaska, Anchorage especially, is a strategically located and vitally important asset to our nation, especially with growing international attention and investment in the Arctic Ocean. I see an Alaska where our plentiful and varied natural resources are harnessed in a responsible manner, driving our economy, and making the state a better place to live for all of us. What do you see as our biggest challenges? And opportunities? Not to sound like a broken record, but our biggest challenge will be listening to each other and understanding the various perspectives, philosophies, and solutions that will guide our state through the coming decades. Our biggest opportunities right now lie in all the ingenious new technologies that are being developed that have not been a part of the Alaskan energy conversation to this point. What keeps you awake at night? My kids, sometimes. Other than that, I sleep well. What does the Alliance mean to you? The Alliance, to me, is a consistent and long-term forum for industry professionals to come together, share ideas and strategies, and accomplish more than one organization ever could on its own. What do you do for fun? I spend time with my kids. I enjoy music, I play guitar and dabble in a few other instruments. I read a fair bit, and watch a lot of history, nature, and science documentaries. I’m very passionate about cooking. I’m not a very outdoorsy person, but I spend a lot of time outside gardening. Anything else you want to share? I want to thank all the Alaskans who have dedicated their time and talents to resource and energy industries. You make it possible for us to call Alaska “home” and to raise our children here.
