N NOTA B L E MEN Jeffrey Weinberg CATERER [ What inspired your career journey? I’ve always loved food and wine—and throwing events has always been something that has brought me great joy. I was part of the opening teams at Evvia in Palo alto and Kokkari in SF, and after leaving the restaurant business, catering seemed like a natural fit. What do you do for fun? I love live music and seeing shows at Shoreline and The Guild (both clients). I started my catering company after I opened my big mouth and critiqued the food and beverage in the season ticketholder lounge at Shoreline. I woke up the following day with a contract and a business. 25 years later that partnership has continued to thrive. What do you enjoy most about living on the Peninsula? The culinary offerings, the open space, the hustle and bustle of the daily grind combined with being able to get up into the Redwoods, being able to walk around, get outside, and just enjoy everything that the area has to offer. Tell me about an event recently that you’ve really been proud of. Recently, we worked on a father’s memorial service. We’d gotten to know this couple when we catered their wedding. They trusted us to cater this event in a manner that was thoughtful and representative of the family— and sent his father off with the food and drink that he enjoyed.
