IAudrey and Nancy Torres ART STUDIO OWNERS & INSTRUCTORS Audrey and Nancy Torres Art Attack 1810 Magnolia Drive, Burlingame 650.552.0001 info@artattack911.com artattack911.com What inspired the idea for your painting studio Art Attack? Nancy: I started in ’95 when Audrey was six. I have a degree in painting and fine arts and a summer camp for kids in my garage was something I could do and still be home with my four children. Art Attack, where everyone can learn to paint, became a neighborhood staple. Audrey, can you tell me more about getting involved? Audrey: For a time, I worked as an event coordinator. I joked all the time that my ability to herd bridal parties came directly from my experience as an Art Attack camp counselor. It felt so natural to return to work at the studio. It’s like I had been in training for it since I was six! It was truly a homecoming. What strengths do you both bring to the table? Audrey: My mother’s a widely talented human. Her positivity and support is so intoxicating for our students. I’ve helped streamline the process and handle the logistics. Why did you choose to focus on the medium of oil painting? Nancy: The creaminess and the flexibility of it. That you can blend and mix colors and rework things, scrape off and refine in a way that is hard to do with other mediums.
