IChristina Kent ARTIST Christina Kent 1661 Tennessee Street, San Francisco 832.381.6389 info@christinakentart.com christinakentart.com What inspired your career journey? My career path was unconventional: after earning a PhD in economics and working in a corporate career, I felt a call to dive deeper into my long-held passion for art. I was captivated by the Bay Area’s landscapes and light, and the connection to this place continues to inspire my work. What do you find most satisfying about your work? I love to convey contemplative moments in both urban and natural landscapes, revealing the underlying power of ordinary scenes. Through capturing subtle shifts of light and color, I aim to evoke a deeper sense of place and invite reflection on the complexity hidden in everyday moments. What is your greatest accomplishment of 2024? Committing to a full-time art career was my biggest accomplishment in 2024. Leaving a steady corporate job was intimidating, but several milestones, including a successful solo exhibition, invitations to two artist residencies, and exhibiting work at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, helped build my confidence on this new path. And for 2025, I have a solo exhibition at Studio Gallery in San Francisco from March 6th-24th. What motivates you in your work? Art has the power to transform how we experience life. My work invites viewers to pause and reflect on their surroundings, engaging with the fleeting moments of time. Through light, color, and form, I seek to evoke meaning and create spaces that resonate with contemplation. I N S P I R I NG WOME N [ PHOTOGRAPHY: ROBB MOST
