Behind the prosperity lies a hidden crisis affecting seniors in our local communities. Older adults and their families struggle with the impossible choice between groceries or other daily needs. This issue affects our neighbors and precious parents and grandparents. The Surgeon General and San Mateo County have identified the “epidemic of loneliness” as a public health crisis. Many older adults live alone, craving connection. Alzheimer’s and dementia are rising, creating overwhelming care-giving challenges for families. These urgent issues ripple through families and the community, raising serious concerns for our region’s rapidly aging population over the next decade and beyond. PVI understands the urgency of this crisis and offers life-changing support for seniors and their families with a spirit of hope. Our core programs include freshly prepared Meals on Wheels, weekly bags of groceries, Alzheimer’s care, and caregiver support services; stimulating learning and social activities, and safe, reliable transportation for older adults to thrive. Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) has been transforming senior care in the community for over 75 years. We are inspired by the outpouring of support that allows us to serve the thousands of local families relying on us for their daily health and wellbeing. Every senior deserves to live a vital and independent life, and together, we can make that possible. Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) Life-Changing Programs, Enabling Seniors to Age in Place!
