A carefully renovated, 1,500-seat, vaudeville-style theatre, this historic building serves as the Yakima Valley’s premier performing arts facility. Along with its 400-seat studio space, the 4th Street Theatre, these venues host a wide variety of local, national, and international artists and events. The Yakima Symphony Orchestra, central Washington’s preeminent professional performing ensemble, is nationally recognized for creative programming and collaborations. From symphonic classics to rock tribute shows, they present a wide-ranging series of eleven programs annually at The Capitol Theatre. For more than 50 years, Yakima Town Hall has been bringing world-class speakers to Yakima through its renowned speaker series, presented at The Capitol Theatre. Past seasons have included Laura Bush, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Captains Mark and Scott Kelly, Maria Shriver and Caroline Kennedy. Give them an hour and they’ll bring you the world. Showcasing the dynamic talents of our community, the Warehouse Theatre Company has been engaging, enriching, and encouraging audiences for more than 75 years, producing five shows per year. The visual arts are on display at the Larson Gallery, an intimate gallery that showcases artists from around the Pacific Northwest and beyond. For a sense of the Valley’s history, the Yakima Valley Museum is a must see.
