FLY FISHING - YAKIMA & NACHES RIVERS “It doesn’t get much better than fly fishing waist deep in the cold and clear waters of the Yakima and Naches rivers. The fishing in and around Yakima is world class! I have caught (and released) trophy trout and salmon within 10 minutes of downtown Yakima.” ROCK CLIMBING - TIETON RIVER & COWICHE CANYON “Great rock climbing surrounds us in Yakima and is a great way to get a different perspective on the landscape of our valley. Two of my favorite spots are at the Royal Columns near the Tieton River Trail and a few challenging routes along the trails in Cowiche Canyon.” SNOWSHOEING AND HIKING - SKYLINE TRAIL “Living in Yakima also gives you quick access to nearby hiking and snowshoe trails. One of my favorite hikes is the Yakima Skyline Trail, which gives you great views of the Yakima River Canyon, all the way to Ellensburg.” THE GREENWAY TRAIL - UNION GAP, YAKIMA, NACHES “My family and I love spending time on the Greenway. It is a great place to take your bikes and to ride next to the winding river. Every time we are out on the Greenway, we encounter wildlife; from Osprey to beavers.”
