LITTLE BEAR TRAIL LENGTH 2.3 MILES The Little Bear Trail at Lake Chelan State Park is a little over two miles, making it the perfect family afternoon hike. The trail begins near campsite 22 and makes only a small gain in elevation, enough to offer unparalleled up lake views. In the springtime, visitors are rewarded with wildflowers that run rampant. This is a small hike that packs a big punch, offering something new with each season. Drive: 15 minutes from downtown Chelan. How to get there: Take Highway 97A south for three miles. Turn right on South Lakeshore Rd (Hwy 971). Proceed six miles on Lakeshore Rd and turn right into Lake Chelan State Park. MOUNTAIN BIKING There is excellent bike riding throughout the Lake Chelan Valley. There are new trails combined with old trails, creating some of the best existing adventures in Central Washington. The trail system is conveniently located 9 miles from Chelan at Echo Ridge and gives easy access to riders, ranging from only a few miles to over 20 miles. All trails are well marked, have maps posted, and are well worth exploring. Enjoy a range of riding options from leisure afternoon cycling to challenging trails, with over 6,500 feet of elevation gain.
