Hawaii Military Guide Winter/Spring 2026

TRICARE PHARMACY PROGRAM The TRICARE Pharmacy Program provides prescription drugs you need, when you need them, in a safe, easy and affordable way. TRICARE’s prescriptions are managed through the pharmacy contractor, Express Scripts. By visiting Tricare.mil/pharmacy, you can: • Sign up for secure services with Express Scripts • Download the free mobile app • Search the TRICARE Formulary • Check Pharmacy Costs Copayments and cost-shares for prescription drugs are based on who you are and where you fill your prescription. ADSMs pay nothing out of pocket for prescription drugs. All other beneficiary types pay copayments for drugs from TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery and TRICARE Retail Network Pharmacies. There are no copayments for prescriptions filled at military pharmacies. TRICARE Drug Categories: TRICARE groups pharmacy drugs into three categories: Generic Formulary, Brand Name Formulary, and Non-Formulary. Pay the least for Generic Formulary drugs and the most for Non-Formulary drugs, regardless of whether you secure them from home delivery or a retail pharmacy. Beneficiaries using a non-network retail pharmacy for these drugs will have to pay 100 percent of the cost of the medication. New Medications: When prescribed a new medication, you and your health care provider should look up the drug with Express Scripts’ TRICARE Formulary Search Tool. Maintenance Drugs: If taking Maintenance Drugs regularly for a chronic condition like High Cholesterol or High Blood Pressure, look for your prescription at Health.mil to see if it is listed on the “Maintenance Drug List.” Or call Express Scripts at (877) 363-1303. If your prescription is listed, fill it up to two times at a network pharmacy. After that, switch to home delivery or to a military pharmacy. If you continue to fill your prescription at a network pharmacy, you’ll pay the full cost. AUTOMATIC REFILL PROGRAM CHANGES The Automatic Refill Program offers the benefit of making sure you have enough medication on hand when you need it, and the convenience of receiving up to a 90-day supply right to your home. If your medication was previously disenrolled from the Automatic Refill program or you want to enroll a new medication, you may enroll eligible prescriptions any time. Choose the most convenient option. PHONE: Call Express Scripts at (877) 363-1303 to speak with a Patient Care Advocate.
