HBA values learning in a community with face-to-face instruction and hands-on opportunities to collaborate and excel. Dive into engaging STEM courses, master coding essentials, or focus on reading, writing, and math skills. From active and exciting sports to unique electives, your child will have the chance to explore diverse interests and find their spark. Students entering grades JK-12 from all schools are welcome! Hongwanji Mission School Hongwanji Mission School’s six-week summer program offers a balanced mix of academics and enrichment designed to keep students engaged while strengthening key skills. Running June 2–July 11, the program is open to children entering grades 1–8 and welcomes students from both public and private schools. Mornings focus on core academics, including language arts and mathematics through pre-algebra, along with sports and Japanese language instruction that supports cultural learning. Afternoons shift into hands-on mini-classes such as art, swimming, basketball, martial arts, and multicultural activities, giving students opportunities to explore new interests while staying active. Guided by experienced instructors in a nurturing environment, the program emphasizes confidence, curiosity, and personal growth.
