50 Hawaii Parent March/April 2026 Hawaii Academy Hawaii Academy is Oahu’s largest gymnastics school with two locations (Honolulu and Waipahu). Movement education for children ages 1-5 starts the youngest of learners on the road to lifelong wellness. There are also classes for children, teens, adults, and elders. Activities offered include trampoline, gymnastics, tumbling, cheer training, acrobatics, apparatus, fitness, and movement education. Ninja classes, which train students for obstacle courses similar to those seen on the television show American Ninja Warrior, are one of the popular offerings at the Academy that inspires students to improve their overall physical fitness. Recreation events include monthly fun nights, open to members and non-members ages 6 and up, where participants can practice what they have learned in classes and socialize with friends who share common interests. Hawaii State Ballet Summer is a perfect time to stay active and creative, and Hawaii State Ballet makes it easy for dancers of all ages to do just that. Through its Junior Program, young students can explore movement and technique with classes like Creative Movement for ages three, Preballet for ages four and five, and Junior I for beginners ages six and up. These weekly classes focus on imagination, rhythm, and fundamental ballet skills in a supportive environment. For teens and adults, HSB’s Open Classes offer a chance to build strength and grace at any experience level. Options range from beginner Ballet Basics to more advanced sessions that refine technique and confidence. Whether starting ballet for the first time or returning to the barre, Hawaii State Ballet’s summer training helps dancers grow, stay active, and keep the joy of dance all season long.
