Stay tuned for official updates and announcements on the Kamehameha Schools website and community channels. 2026 CHINA TOWN FESTIVAL February 14 Celebrate the Year of the Horse with Chinatown 808 and presenting sponsor American Savings Bank at this vibrant, family-friendly Lunar New Year festival in the heart of Honolulu’s Historic Chinatown. Although Lunar New Year officially falls on Tuesday, February 17, the festivities kick off early with an exciting parade stepping off at 4:30 p.m. from the Hawaii State Capitol lawn. The procession will make its way down Hotel Street and through Chinatown before arriving at the lively Chinatown Festival in Aala Park and along Beretania Street. Families can enjoy cultural performances, delicious food, local vendors, and traditional New Year activities that bring the community together. “PA KA MAKANI” HTY PERFORMANCE February 27 The play “Pa Ka Makani” (For ages 7+) is back by popular demand! This beautifully crafted Honolulu Theatre for Youth production returns from its international tour in Italy and Portugal. The story follows a young woman’s heartfelt journey to understand her place within her culture, guided by hula, oli, and the gentle breezes of the islands as she seeks wisdom from her beloved Tutu. Families can catch the first public performance on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., with two additional limited-run showings on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 14 at 4:00 p.m. Pa Ka Makani Back from Italy & Portugal by popular demand!
