Step aboard the Battleship Missouri Memorial for a special Living History Day celebrating the ship’s launch, her reopening to the public, and the 40th anniversary of her 1986 re-commissioning. On Saturday, January 24, families can mance on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., with additional showings on Sundays, January 18 and 25 at 2:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 31 at 4:00 p.m. MARTIN LUTHER KING PARADE AND FESTIVAL January 19 The Martin Luther King Parade and Festival, bringing together people of all backgrounds, cultures, and languages to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This new community celebration invites families to experience unity, diversity, and the spirit of aloha in the heart of Waikiki. The parade will begin at Ala Moana Beach Park (Magic Island) and proceed down Kalakaua Avenue, ending at Kapiolani Park for a festival featuring entertainment, vendors, and activities for all ages. The full parade route spans just under three miles and is designed to welcome participants from across Hawaii and beyond. Living History Day offers a unique opportunity to learn from veterans and historians.
