Hawaii Parent Nov-Dec 24

MAKAI’s nearby Kona Pool is the largest pool on the island. Every morning, our toddler explored the shallow waters of its children’s beach area, and our baby loved floating under the bridges and watching the other kids go down the 175-foot waterslide. Mom and dad took turns relaxing in the lounge chairs with the resort-provided beach towels. On the opposite side of the resort, Kohala Pool features waterslides and a long labyrinth of pools. In the center of the resort, the ocean-fed lagoon offers a beach, lounge chairs and marine wildlife sightings. Stroller-Friendly Paths and Tram System I enjoyed walking our baby on the plenteous stroller-friendly paths. We walked past waterfalls, interesting art, lush plants, upscale architecture and many other families enjoying their stays – and she’d often fall asleep comforted by the cool ocean breeze. Although we enjoyed walking – especially because our toddler was intrigued by the 1,800 unique art pieces along the resort’s Museum Walkway – we did ride the tram that interconnects the expansive property one time. A fun experience for the keiki and great way to meet other families! A Premier Family-Friendly Vacation For most of our staycation, we remained at the resort enjoying its expansive offerings, but we also ventured to a nearby keiki museum, shops and restaurants and visited friends and family in Waimea and Hilo. We left Hilton Waikoloa Village after our five-day stay with fond family memories – and hope to staycation there again. Book your family’s next “staycation” at HiltonWaikoloaVillage.com!
