Located near Fort Shafter on the slopes of Moanalua, Tripler Army Medical Center is an expansive military medical treatment facility. Known as “the pink palace on the hill,” the architecturally-distinctive coral pink buildings and expansive staff provides “patient- and family-centered care in a Culture of Excellence” through a variety of services, as described on Tripler’s website at tripler.tricare.mil. Tripler serves active-duty service members of all branches of service and their eligible family members, military-eligible retirees and their families, veterans and many residents of the Pacific Islands. Health services include urgent and emergency care, hospital care and surgery, cancer care, primary care, mental health, women’s health and pregnancy, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, dental, vision and more specialty care services. Driving and Parking Directions Tripler is easily accessible via Oahu’s main thoroughfares – the H-1, H-3 and H201 freeways – and is less than four miles to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). The H-201 off-ramp leads to Puuloa Rd./Jarrett White Rd. Off Jarrett White Rd., parking terraces and the emergency room are on the left. A parking lot for patients/visitors is located near the G Wing entrance. Additional parking is available in the hospital’s parking structure across the street from the Mountainside Entrance on Patterson Road. Tripler is an expansive 375-acre medical facility with multiple wings; therefore, it is recommended to enter the nearest wing to your appointment: enter the A Wing for appointments in the A and C Wings; enter the D Wing for appointments in the D and B Wings; enter the G Wing lobby entrance for appointments in F, G and H Wings.
