Beyond his support of the mining industry, he also believes in supporting the community he calls home. For the last eight years, he has been a coach for the Hutchison High School Academic Decathlon team, which he participated in for four years as a Hutch student. He helped coach the team to the state championships this year, and they won 46 of 100 medals, taking first place for the first time in the history of the school’s participation. He also volunteers his time with Plenty for All, a local Fairbanks non-profit dedicated to helping people achieve the goal of maintaining a home of their own. Congratulations, Brian!
