14 | FALL 2026 EDIBLE CENTRAL OREGON Astronauts explore the cosmos. Argonauts explored mythical lands. Terranaut Beer explores the beer terrain. And it does so across suds styles that are ancient, or modern, or futuristic. The captain at the helm— brewer and co-owner Bryon Pyka—doesn’t need a space suit or a suit of armor nor are you likely to ever see him wearing a suit and tie. He wears rubber boots and a nifty Prince T-shirt that he tie-dyed himself. As Bend’s second-youngest brewery, Terranaut earned Small Brewery of the Year honors at the 2025 Oregon Beer Awards (OBA), an impressive feat on its own but exponentially more so for a brewery in its first year of operation. Such a title must be earned through medaling in individual categories which, fittingly, Terranaut did by taking home gold medals in both the classic UK styles category and the experimental beer category.
